Red Dot Paragliding recently organised a Ground Handling session for members at the spacious open fields of Old Holland Road. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout, with pilots of all levels taking the opportunity to refine their control and handling techniques in a safe, supportive environment.
Why Ground Handling Matters
Ground handling is one of the most essential foundations of safe paragliding. Regular practice sharpens a pilot’s skills in wing control, building muscle memory and improving reactions to changing conditions. Whether you’re launching from a hill or managing your wing in strong winds, confident ground handling can make all the difference.
It’s also an excellent way to stay current, especially for those in between flying trips or during less favourable weather windows. Ground sessions offer the perfect chance to experiment with equipment, try out new wings, or simply reconnect with fellow pilots.
Club Community in Action
As always, the session brought together new and experienced members alike — exchanging tips, encouraging one another, and having fun while honing their skills. Red Dot Paragliding continues to promote such regular sessions as part of our mission to build a strong, safety-conscious flying community.
