Jerai International Paragliding XC Championship 2027

Experience world-class Cross-Country paragliding at the majestic Gunung Jerai! Organized by the Malaysia Sports Aviation Federation (MSAF), this premier championship brings together up to 80 international pilots to test their skills over the scenic landscapes of Kedah.

Daily Schedule

◈ Wednesday, Jan 27:
• 07:30 – 09:00: Pilots arrival
• 11:00 – 17:00: Free training
• 14:00 – 17:00: Re-registration & equipment check at HQ (Secretariat Room, Landing Area)
• 17:00 – 18:00: Mandatory Safety Briefing
◈ Thursday – Saturday, Jan 28 – 30:
• 07:30 – 07:45: Hotel pickup
• 08:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
• 11:00 – 16:00: Official Competition
◈ Sunday, Jan 31:
• 07:30 – 07:45: Hotel pickup
• 08:00 – 10:00: Breakfast
• 11:00 – 15:00: Official Competition
• 17:30 – 18:30: Closing & Award Ceremony

How to Get to Gunung Jerai
◈ From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA):
• Take the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral → KTM ETS train to Gurun Station → Taxi/Grab to Gunung Jerai (Est. 6–7 hours).
◈ From Penang International Airport (PEN):
• Option 1 (Direct Grab): Take a Grab directly to Gunung Jerai (Est. 1.5–2 hours | ~RM120–RM180).
• Option 2 (Public Transit): Bus 401 to Weld Quay → Ferry to Butterworth → KTM Komuter train to Gurun Station → Taxi/Grab to venue (Est. 3–4 hours).
